Critical Role and Licensed Dice Sets: What Is Official

Official Critical Role dice are sold through Critical Role’s own shop and by licensee Sirius Dice. Official D&D dice come from licensees such as Sirius Dice, which also sells Baldur’s Gate 3 treasure packs. Renegade Game Studios makes Dungeon Crawler Carl dice. Anything not listed by the licensor or a named licensee is likely fan-made.

Which licensed dice are official?

The table sums up what each licensor or licensee listed when checked on September 29, 2026. Stock changes, so the licensor’s store is the final word.

Critical Role dice

Critical Role’s own shop has the widest range. Its dice collection lists Champion Dice Sets for characters such as Grog Strongjaw, Percival, Vax’ildan and Jester Lavorre. It also carries character sets for Vox Machina, the Mighty Nein and Bells Hells, plus Daggerheart dice.

What is in a Champion Dice Set?

Critical Role describes each as a “set of 7 sharp edged epoxy resin polyhedral dice”: a d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20 and a percentile die. The Grog Strongjaw set has a custom tankard icon on the d20’s 20 face. It arrives in a box with a window shaped like the Critical Role logo, plus a velveteen drawstring bag embroidered with the logo. The shop warns that “exact coloration may vary between both dice and sets.”

Sirius Dice Vox Machina Adventure Dice Sets

In an August 11, 2026 press release, Sirius Dice announced officially licensed Critical Role Vox Machina Adventure Dice Sets. There are seven character sets, including Grog Strongjaw and Vax’ildan. Each has a polyhedral set plus a collectible sharp edged d20. The release names the Sirius Dice store, Amazon and local game stores as sellers. It also announced Mighty Nein and Bells Hells collections for later in 2026, each with collectible pins.

Official D&D dice

Dungeons & Dragons is a Wizards of the Coast trademark, and official dice come from licensees. Sirius Dice’s Dungeons & Dragons collection states that it sells “officially licensed Dungeons & Dragons dice sets.” ICv2 reported two of them in June 2025: a Fireball Adventure Dice Set of eight flame colored d6s, and a Tasha the Witch Queen set of seven sharp edged polyhedral dice. Baldur’s Gate 3 dice

Larian Studios made the Baldur’s Gate 3 video game, which is set in the D&D world. The physical dice we could confirm come from Sirius Dice, which sells Baldur’s Gate 3 Treasure Packs, tagged as part of its D&D range. Each blind pack holds one oversized d20 with a character icon, such as Astarion, Gale or the Dark Urge. It also contains a collectible coin and an embroidered dice bag. Sirius lists 40 possible d20 designs.

Dungeon Crawler Carl dice

Renegade Game Studios announced its partnership with author Matt Dinniman in July 2025 to bring the Dungeon Crawler Carl novels to the tabletop. Its dice line is built around the roleplaying game:

• Smush Dice Set: seven acrylic full color dice (one each of d4, d6, d8, d10 and d12, plus two d20s) and a d2 “poker style chip,” in a reusable window box. Renegade lists a November 2026 release.
• Dice Loot Packs: each holds a seven-piece polyhedral set and a temporary tattoo, with 20 themed dice sets to collect, including Legendary sets.
• Oversized Samantha D20: 55mm, resin, with metallic ink numbering.
• Starter set: includes an “8-piece boring ol’ dice set,” also listed for November 2026.

Note that the Smush set has no percentile die. Pair it with a standard set if your game rolls percentages.

How do you tell licensed dice from fan-made sets?

Unofficial dice inspired by shows and games also reach marketplaces. The problem is a listing that implies it is official when it is not. Check these points:

1. Find it on the licensor’s store. Critical Role’s shop, Renegade’s site and Sirius Dice’s D&D page all list their official sets by name.
2. Look for a named licensee. Official sets name the maker, such as Sirius Dice or Renegade Game Studios, on the box or the listing.
3. Read the packaging description. Official boxes carry the licensor’s logo. Critical Role’s Champion sets, for example, use a window cut in the shape of its logo.
4. Match the contents. Compare the number and type of dice to the licensor’s own description. A Smush set should have two d20s and a d2 chip.
5. Be wary of character names alone. A name in a title is not a license. eBay’s counterfeit policy bans items that mislead buyers into believing they are genuine by misusing trademarks.

Licensed dice as gifts for fans

A character set makes an easy present for a fan who already plays: pick the character they love, or the one they play. Blind packs like Treasure Packs and Loot Packs suit collectors who enjoy the surprise.
